“The Young Lighter competition encouraged me to do my research as it gave me the right platform to work on the lighting subject I had had in my mind for a while. The excitement and honour of being chosen as the SLL Young Lighter of the Year 2010 was huge. By the influence of the award, I have gained confidence with my lighting design career and I have a wider point‐of‐view relating to lighting and the significance of light in our lives. I really believe that the inspiration of this award will guide me through my lighting career and I would like to thank the Society of Light and Lighting for providing me an opportunity to achieve a big step in this. I am sure that the future winners will always feel the support of the Young Lighter award during their lighting careers as in the way I have been feeling since last year."
