All members receive the benefits of membership of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers plus:

  • If you have suitable qualifications and experience, you have the right to use the designatory letters MSLL (Member) or FSLL (Fellow).
  • The SLL is renowned for its Code for Lighting and specialist Lighting Guides. Being a member allows you to participate in the writing of them and to purchase them at a reduced rate.
  • Receive the Society's newsletter six times a year and the monthly CIBSE Journal.
  • Have free access to the world renowned research journal, Lighting Research and Technology, online.
  • Keep up to date with developments in lighting technology.
  • Receive advance notice of annual events such as Young Lighter of the Year and Ready, Steady, Light.
  • Take part in forming policy on technical and design matters to influence legislation.
