Lighting Diploma

The Lighting Diploma is intended to recognise qualifications and experience in lighting. It was created because there are few opportunities for formal lighting education leading to recognised qualifications but there are many people in the profession who can offer a wealth of experience.

To qualify for the Diploma a candidate must be a member of the Society of Light and Lighting (previously, applicants had simply to be a member of CIBSE) and must be able to demonstrate appropriate qualifications and/or experience. The "benchmark" is a Higher or National certificate, but it is recognised that candidates will offer a very wide range of qualifications and backgrounds.

For a practice to be included in the SLL Lighting Directory it must employ at least one holder of the Lighting Diploma.
